How to Make Simple Mother’s Day Floral Arrangements

Do you guys know that mom song by Meghan Trainor? I love that song! You might have a mom, she might be the bomb, but ain’t nobody got a mom like mine.
And it’s true! I’m pretty sure most people I know think their mom is the best mom out of all the moms. I mean, I’m POSITIVE mine is. 😉 So I made her a little bouquet recently (for Easter, actually) and thought I’d share how here, in case you have a great mom who might need some pretty blooms for Mother’s Day.
These simple Mother’s Day bouquets are a snap to put together and your sweet mama will be all jazzed that you made it with your own two hands.
Materials
- assorted florals and greenery with lots of different textures (we used peonies, ranunculus, pincushion protea, ruscus israeli, painted pink billy balls, and pink hypericum berries)
- small vase or large water glass
Step 1: Choose a few stems of greenery and berries. Trim the stems to a few inches taller than your vase. Remove any leaves or greenery that will fall below the water line. Insert these into your vase.
Step 2: Start with the largest blooms and trim and remove the lower leaves like you did with the greenery. Insert the largest bloom into the vase, followed by the smaller blooms. Save a few small ones for last and insert them into any blank spaces.
Step 3: Check out the arrangement from all angles, and fluff up the flowers to make sure there are no gaps. Insert any other flowers as needed.
That’s it! These blooms from Trader Joes were perfect for a project like this. Here’s another way to arrange them!
And you could even do a whole bunch of little bouquets like these if you were putting together a larger event like a shower; have your pals come over to do a bouquet assembly line. We had the most dreamy bunch of flowers to work with and I kept saying over and over to Ryan that I was having so much fun I maybe should have been a florist. Who wouldn’t want to play with flowers all day?! xoxo
